I detoxed here and the medical staff and techs were great. They made you comfortable on detox meds and a tapper. Joe Santoago is a great guy. You'll have no problems, just follow the rules. There was always someone there to talk to if needed. The food was good, it was catered. I really couldn't eat but there plenty of snacks and they let you eat and cook in the middle of the night if you for hungry. The night staff were amazing. They require you to see the doctor everyday. They take you on the van Mon-Fri and she comes to the house on weekends. They bring H.I. meetings twice a week and there are a few groups a day your required to go to but there very good. Elsa a counselor runs some and he's a cool dude in recovery. Most of the staff are in recovery. Detox is in a regular house and they give you a free pack of L&M ciggarettes, menthol or non menthol every morning if you smoke. There's a pleasant patio out back to smoke were you smoke anytime of the day except during groups. You smoke on the patio in the middle of the night if you can't sleep. There's two TV rooms, one for the men and one for woman. They have smart TV's, with bluray, Netflix, YouTube and cable. You just can't watch or listen to anything that contains excessive drugs or drug talk. This is a rule in place to not trigger anyone. When someone is in detox, that early in recovery, one is vulnerable and this so its is in place so no one runs or is triggered. Bedrooms are 2 to a room usually. The mattresses are super comfy, I couldn't believe it. There a TV in every room with regular cable. They let you make 1-2 phone calls a day at designated times, supervised. A massage therapist comes once a week and she's really good. This service is offered to everyone that is a client there. They encourage treatment after detox and will help you find the best one for you if you choose to go. It's recccomended. During my stay they gave me an allergy test which had instant results. They have random drug screens and your narcotic detox meds dont effect it. Medical is aware. They usually give Ativan for Benzo and alcohol withdrawl or librium and Suboxone or Subutex for opiots or conning off subs. They administer a tapper dose in accordance to your daily tolerance. Anyone who goes to detox, remember the longer and larger amount you have been using didn't mean you'll always be back to your norm after your done at detox. Withdrawl and PAWS can last week's to months. Based on a person to person basis and tolerance and how long you been using.
